JUNIOR SQUAD(Ages 15 - 17)OFFICERS: Coordinator: Ed Gorman

The Junior SQUAD is a group of young adults that want to help their communities even though they can't get a certification yet. These young adults come down on Sunday mornings from 9am-1pm to train and learn how to help out their community from certified members in the company. The Junior Squad are a group of young adults between the ages of 15-17, they are taught basic life support skills and are able to ride the ambulance to get great hands on experience. If these young adults want to get a certification as an emt, Bellmore-Merrick EMS will sponsor them for the class. These young adults are our next generation of Emergency Medical Providers, the training they recieve is taught to them by a certified EMT or Paramedic. They are taught the different items on the ambulance and how they are used on Emergency Medical Calls. We create scenario's with the personal that we have and use those skills we taught them so they can get a feeling on how to use these skills out in the field.
